Ours sent out a plan for 5/29. It calls for groups of 8-9 kids with a Coach 12 ft apart. For the younger kids, I just don't see them staying apart from one another. These boys (2008) are like puppies. They love to be with each other and it has been months. My older son that is 2005 I'm less worried about because they are able to understand and stay apart. The other factor is that all of the teams practice at this one GIANT complex. The sheer number of parents and nannies and grandparents doing pick up and drop means there are just hundreds of people around. There is usually a 10-20 min car line back-up to get out of the parking lot after practices. Their policy was for a parent to be there---and they would not release a player until the made eye contact and waved to parent. I will have to see what it looks like in practice. Drive out and see if I'm comfortable with it. I do NOT like that we are now seeing the Covid-related kid illness starting to become a problem in many areas. I am cautiously watching those numbers too. And, no, I am not a 'wrap your kid in a bubble parent' like people in this forum like to call people with any bit of common sense. I work in pathogenic bacterial vaccines with a graduate degree in Microbiology/Immunology so this sh*t is right up my alley.
Yeah. Good. Use your expertise and stay home. Nobody likes any of this. Nobody should be forced to go, nobody should be prevented from going, and nobody should judge others for either decision. Can we all agree there? I think the fireworks start when the judgments and credentializing begin. Legitimizing an opinion about something like this would be as appropriate as a lawyer saying you cannot have opinions about constitutional issues because you are not a lawyer.
People like you still don't understand the basics of transmission and how sneaky this virus is. Unlike most viruses it spreads while you are asymptomatic and you can be asymptomatic for up to 14 days. You probably think you are also ok to drive drunk too.
