Exactly. Sorry, OP. YOU'RE the guy at the conference reception who won't let it go that questionable joke didn't go over with his colleagues.

1) Easter happened. Christmas will happen, no matter what. Nothing was cancelled, so there's nothing to gloat over.

2) People are dying. People on this very forum have lost grandparents, parents, siblings. One lady lost her ex-husband; her child lost a father.  People on this very forum have lost their jobs, and are depleting their savings. The've lost their portfolios and their security. It's just not funny. It's just not eye-opening or provocative. Your post was just mean.[/quote]

And your post is mean too -- as if "people on this very forum" would be special in any way to be protected from the effects of the virus.  One thing for sure -- you can't get it from posting here - but you can continue to spread ill-will. [/quote]

DP. Sorry OP that nobody thought your veiled smugness was funny. But no reasonable reading of pp suggests pp thinks DCUMers are protected from COVID. What a strange thought. What pp clearly meant was that some DCUMers have lost relatives and friends and, on top of that, they’re being subject to social media smugness/meanness from people like you.
