Were you and your husband walking side by side? When you do that, you reduce the ability for others to pass you with added distance. Walk single file next time, OP.
This. If you were walking side by side versus single file, you had it coming.
Nope. We all need to adapt. No one has the right to barrel through, and a couple side by side is not blocking a path.
Except you. You don't want to adapt by walking single file. You're special and different, we get it.
Notice how for others, the standard is "stay six feet away!" but for OP, (or whomever made that post) it is "couples are not blocking the path." Lovely. You are in your house with your spouse basically all day - talk then. Walk single file on the paths or sidewalks.
Again, ask them to go single file so you can pass. Just like no one is asking you to run on the shoulder the entire run, there is no reason to be single file the entire walk. Simply when people encounter each other, communicate and be considerate. I know your precious time is more important to people’s lives, but maybe consider how this will escalate. Look at PP saying to stick their foot out!
So you think that when people are walking two abreast, and someone behind them says, "on you left," they will, happily and without grumbling, move to single file? You're sweet.
I would, but, I'm usually not a dick, so ...
Maybe a few more words than one your left, but instead ask if the care about social distancing to move to single file. Thus those who care will happily move and other will happily wave you pass. Are you so out of breath this is too many words?
