I was the pp.askinf how it was going. Any thoughts about whether or not to start training given parent stress levels?
I was the pp with the twin boys who started training last week. I think everyone's situation is different, and there are some aspects of this training that really made me freaking crazy for a couple of days, but on balance, it's been totally worth it. The first twin who just constantly peed his pants this first day really started to get it after day 3 or 4 and has had hardly any accidents, and goes to the potty on his own without us telling him (and has done two poops in the potty on his own volition!) The second twin (who was better the first day) got stubborn and defiant 3-4 days in (maybe we were praising his brother too much, I'm not sure) and it drove us nuts, but after just taking a breath and deciding to stay cool and not caring if he went or not, he seemed to calm down too and has hardly had any accidents. We go out once a day for a 30-60 minute walk in the neighborhood and they have both stayed dry in their undies every single time. Anyway, it's sad to be so proud of things like this, but I am! And I cannot think of any other time when I would've had the patience or time to do this given that DH and I have such busy work schedules. This is definitely taking longer than 3 days, but the progress is amazing. Do it if you can!
