Wow... terrible advice from people who have no idea about UVA's internships and job placements for Mcintire. Its one of the top 3 undergrad business schools in the US. DD has had amazing opportunities offered to her in NYC, Boston and DC, as have all her peers. 98% placement rate. Recruiters from every bank and consulting company conduct interviews on campus. That being said, getting into McIntire in no sure thing. Have to apply during second year and there is no direct admit for first years, so you will need to consider that risk.
98% placement rate into $60k/yr analyst positions is not worth $200k. Top 3 undergrad business school is highly questionable. Wharton, MIT, Berkeley, Michigan, NYU, CMU and UNC are ranked higher according to USNews. However UVA does place throughout the East Coast. But note that only the best and the brightest from UVA will make it into the more prestigious investment banks and consulting based on NYC/Boston. There's quite a difference in consideration between Univ of Oregon and Univ of Colorado at Boulder. The latter is a very good school and there is no reason to take UVa OOS over Colorda Boulder on a full ride. I don't know much about Univ of Oregon.
