I homeschool and know lots of families who live on one income. We built our life and housing based on one income, though, so maybe you'd have to make some more drastic changes in order to cut back. It is a great lifestyle. I did consulting on the side for the first couple of years to pay for the extras like homeschool materials, summer camps, etc. and as my husband's income grew, I was able to phase that out. Not all careers would allow that (and it was really hectic with small kids - I had to do most of my work after they were asleep), but wouldn't change a thing looking back).[/quote]
