OP again - I just took my pulse with my fingers on my wrist and it was about 80 - much lower than 98 (though I guessstill not optimum). That’s odd.
You need to take many readings one after another to get it righr T. For some reasons the sensors in the divices that are not permanently sitting on Your skin for solid while.. like watch... they give false reading when Device or finger is cold. So you need to kind of warm them simultaneously. Best to just put it on few other fingers and just have it sit to warm up The inside and then put on your measuring index finger. Most people report first reading or readings to be way off To both ppm and oxugen level but if you keep measuring Eventually after quite few thimes numbers become Consistent and within reasonable range. So bottom line.. warm up finger.. warm up inside of the device measure many times, be still do measure after sitting For a very long time not after walking or just Sitting down. Any small activity affects reading.
