Let's also be perfectly clear that all of this was all well known to Haya when they married.  You have to ask yourself why a seemingly progressive woman marries a guy 25 years her senior who already has other wives and countless children, and has no intention of divorcing them.  Haya is not a full Arab but as a shami, she certainly knew the way of the Gulfies, and the way they run their houses and countries.  But no, Haya thought she could be the fabulous one, the wife who gets to wear regular dresses and mingle with the international jetset while the Emirati wives stay at home.  I wonder what her reasons were - like twenty billion of them. [/quote]

Exactly. These women married into extreme wealth and fame, then are surprised when there are strings attached. Although you can't really compare a mother who's afraid for the safety of herself and her children to someone who's disjointed over not getting the exact PR that she covets.[/quote]
