Oh, wow, welcome back! You seem to be the same poster that is always calling things at ITDS "gross".  As, someone else mentioned the middle class and above families are maybe out some cash. But, I feel worse for the teachers or staff that might have to make changes. 
It was a pretty big error to announce the 1st day and but obliviously it was a error and the powers that be decided this was the easier fix. And it kind of is... 3 day adjustment. Either way it is done.

If you find it so horrible then volunteer to take the lead on setting up free or low cost program for the half days. Be part of the solution. [/quote]
