NTCs are run by us club soccer...
Try again. US Club Soccer runs PDP and the ID2 stuff. Now, since the DA, US Club Soccer is hosting ther own NTCs for ECNL players since fewer and fewer of them are getting invites.
If this is true, it’s ridiculous and spiteful. Those players should move to DA if they want to go to real NTCs. The ECNL is the Confederacy of soccer.
mm Are you kidding? The scout for this area literally tells the kids from ECNL if they want to continue to go to the NTC they must change to FCV a DA club. Ridiculous.
The message to move to DA is the US Soccer message. They have been warning for a couple of years that they will stop giving ECNL the same looks. They want only FT, year round players. But driving them to FCV instead of just saying any area DA is unethical.
Both practices are repugnant. Shouldn't we be trying to get the best players under the microscope, regardless of league? And what about all the players in states with no ECNL or DA? I guess they are SOL.
There is the US Soccer pyramid to train & identify talent to their preference for success they define. The leagues is part of the process, but you don't want to play by their rules.
Why shouldn't US soccer want the kids they invest in to play in their DA program? If there is a local DA available, kids who want to play for a YNT should be playing there. If one isn't close, then its a different story. And to the poster saying they are only looking for big, strong and fast players, the two most recent players to get YNT call ups from FCV and Richmond aren't big at all. They are small, quick technical players, so you can save that narrative.
Good people....this discussion is losing touch with reality. From my understanding, In all of Virginia, 1 2004 was called into a YNT camp (ECNL) In all of Virginia, 1 2005 was called into a YNT camp (DA) There has been 100's of 2004/2005 that have gone to various NTC's. The odds of your kid getting called into a YNT camp is virtually zero. Everything else is propaganda for recruiting.
