Op again- Than you so much for the wonderful response! I’m so happy that this message inspired many of you. Your messages also inspired me!! Thank you also to those who posted more helpful tips- I really appreciate it! To answer your questions, I’m 47 and I’ve been overweight for the past 10 years. I grew up average weight, but somewhere along the way food became my comfort. If I’m honest, food is still my comfort, but now I just make healthier choices. One other thing I forgot to mention was that I gave myself little gifts along the way to reward myself. After losing 50 pounds, I bought an Apple Watch and I just love tracking my steps. It really does motivate me to get up and move, and every day (unless I’m sick) I make sure to hit 10k steps. Often I end up with more, but that’s my minimum. It made me start walking to the nail salon and even the grocery store (with a backpack or trolley) just so I could get my steps in. I didn’t realise how little I was walking, and now instead of using the car I will walk whenever possible. I also got rid of cable, because laying on the couch and eating/snacking became my routine. Now if I want to watch a movie, I put my iPad on my treadmill and go. I don’t walk very fast, but I’m moving and that’s what matters. I invested in nice patio furniture and flowers, so I’d enjoy sitting outside and reading. I used to watch tv and snack all day long on the weekends, and I forgot how much I loved to read. Once I made a nice space for myself outside, it was fun to read again. I didn’t make any changes all at once, just little by little things evolved and over the past year I’ve found what works. It makes me so happy that this message is helping you as well- and to answer the pp, yes I will post back about the gorillas!!
