It's a venial sin, sure, but it is done with good intentions and it's not harmful to anyone. I mean, really. Go back to CCD![/quote] OK, then it's two sins -- a mortal sin for missing mass and a venial sin for lying about it to a priest (or to anyone, I guess) Plus it's not done with "good intentions" -- it's done to lie about a mortal sin and to encourage a child to 1) miss mass and 2) lie in order to receive a sacrament of the church.[/quote]
