Capital One no doubt. Not even comparable. source: ive worked at both.
Can you give examples of benefits at CapOne? -Another Poster
WFH as much as you want 6 figure bonuses at Dir level and up Deferred comp plan for people with enough pay 7.5% 401K match Subsidized lunch Unlimited vacation Good health bennies Easy low stress 30 hour a week job
What is your role at CapOne? My spouse is "Dir level and up" and WFH as much as you want is not true, nor is 6 figure bonus (10-40 seems about what to expect for the vast majority of Directors). Our copay is far higher than the last two jobs that provided insurance. 30 hours a week is also not even close to what they work - more like 40-55.
Business analyst family of jobs. 6 figures is with stock and VS rating. It might be a bit lower at S. A $10K bonus makes no sense. We pay first year analysts that much in bonus. $20K bonus is normal for a Sr associare level. $40K is a good bonus at manager level and I think roughly target bonus at Sr Manager. You spouse is lying about their bonus, is underperforming, or is in some very very different role that’s on a completely different comp structure. The hours vary a bit by group.
Any insight into how the Product Management job family is? Salary, bonuses, opportunities for promotion, etc.
I know a little, but take it with a grain of salt, because it’s not my area. From what I’ve heard and seen the “digital” product management side pays well, has opportunities for promotion, etc. The backend IT product teams seem to fair far worse. As laughable as it is, COF is trying to be a startup, and wants to be thought of as a tech company more than a bank. I know. Someone said I’m a blowhard earlier but even I find that laughable. In general, there’s been historically three job families that reign supreme: strategy team (very small, dozen people) because they are C suite right hand team (and work 80 hours a week), business analyst job family because it’s “mathematically intensive” and the company values that (to a fault), and more recently in the last few years product management - but only within the digital teams. The reason being that the digital teams introduced business cases to the interview so, while technically perhaps marginally “lower” on the pecking order than business jobs, they were largely interchangeable. As for bonuses I don’t know, but I’ve heard they are comparable. If you asked me to guess, I’d tell you Director is probably $160-$180 base and bonus is probably something like $40K cash and $30-$40K stock, but perhaps Glassdoor has better numbers. I’ve been crapped on by some prior posters, but look, COF can be a great place to work. They pay well, they have flexible work hours by and large, and bonus structures can be meaningful, while generally offering pretty reasonable hours. To wit, for years, if I found myself at the office at 7pm the light timer turned off and I’d have to walk over to turn it on. I’ve never worked anywhere that happens at 7pm. A lot of folks seem he’ll bent on calling out that this isn’t universally true, and of course it isn’t for every division and every group in every office, but by and large it’s great company to make a few hundred K while living a reasonable life.
