[/b] It’s tough all over for college admissions.  Plenty of 4.4-4.5 white kids getting rejected from the top 10s too.  High performing UMC white kids are a dime and dozen in the DMV, and they aren’t taking your DC’s Harvard slot.  There are just 100 exceptional kids for every Harvard slot.

Now, any given graduating class at TJ is 1-2% URM and 1-2% FARMs.  A top 10% first gen, AA or Hispanic TJ kid could write their own ticket. Because they are unicorns.  But that’s not what you meant, is it?  [/quote]

We were told the same about five years ago.  Minimum GPA of 4.0 for applying to engineering and they want to see Calculus BC finished with an A before you apply.  VT was ED then, so they advised not to apply ED if Calculus BC was not yet finished (which meant finished by end of Jr. year or summer college course).[/quote]
