Women I knew who played when the goggle rule went in all said that they were hit in the head more frequently than before goggles were required. When the Naval Academy used a strap from the Football helmet to the shoulder pads to reduce neck injuries, the injuries spiked. Turns out it made players think they could safely use their helmets even more when tackling. The straps were eliminated. Refs need to call shooting space tightly. [/quote]
