My son’s school got exemptions from da for three players this year. Must be fairly common. But they do not rent their fields to any soccer clubs.
Must be a private school then. I don't think DA can grant exemptions unless a kid is getting a tuition or admissions break in exchange for playing, and even then they have to sit out that part of the DA season. Unless they are just flying under the radar.
Most of the DA teams in the north allow their kids to play HS. Not sure how. The Cincinnati teams had mixed teams/lots of playups recently because 70% were playing HS. Per the parents and the coaches.
I heard for girls' DAs, players 2003 and up were allowed to get general high school exemptions. Which I think you are talking about when FCV played Cincinnati. What I heard of why it was done was because many were on clubs that converted to DA clubs so it was allowed as a transitional thing. That said, and again referencing Cincinnati, the high school season is in the fall and those players aren't even rostered. So in theory, they can just not roster them until pre-season as add on. Could be a way to "game" the system.
