There has to be something more to this than what the OP has posted.[/quote] If you can't afford it, you're supposed to talk to the secretary, and then the magnet program coordinator sends out e-mails to the magnet program parents, saying, "Hey, we (still) need (more) money, please write checks," until there's enough money for the kids whose parents can't afford it to go.. Really. It's possible that parents keep their kids out of the magnet program because they're worried about paying for the 8th grade field trip, but I don't know. [/quote]
