Just my opinion but I think it is better to be on the top team of a club in the A or B (lower two divisions) than the second B team of a top tier team. Check out MD Wilde, Cannons, MDX, 3d is also forming teams in VA and MD
Completely agree with this, always work to play on the top team for any club at the highest level you are capable of. As you head into high school this may change a bit as it matters more what tournaments the teams are going to.
I disagree. As the wife of a travel lacrosse coach of a AA HoCo team, this is not a great approach unless your kid is a rockstar it is much much better for a kid to get play time than not. I'm always so amazed that parents will shell our thousands of dollars to watch their kids ride the bench. Kids need reps to get better. My DH fills the bench because that's what the organization wants, but truly only has a core 14 players. Everyone else is backfill. My son plays D1 lacrosse and we never held him back. He also was a late bloomer and played B team in 8th, JV in 9th and didn't really come into his own until the summer before 10th when he finally hit puberty.
