It is the stupidest thing ever invented. Used it for a week and never again. It had me exit 495 going to MD from VA, only to take me on the street next to it, through tiny housing section and back onto the highway at the next exit!! And as it was dark I thought it was going to take me through DC so I followed the directions. What if a tanker spilled on 495, right? Nope, and then I was stuck for 45 minutes on a merging lanes on the side road and traffic from other side street merging onto the exit for 45 minutes! Never again, deleted that crap that same night. Only fools use it.
The problem is that everyone else does the same thing before it can account for it. There was an issue a year or two ago when the Woodrow Wilson Bridge was shut down due to that truck fire. Waze suggested detours through residential areas, and so many people followed it that it created even more gridlock.
