OP, ALL this is unimportant

Here's what your goals should be:

- If dinnertime is uncomfortable, shorten it
-  Her life is her life. You do not get to decide if she's doing it right. Your opinion is unimportant re: how YOU think she should spend her time
-  Her relationship with her son, their relationship, is not your business - at all - unless they are yelling at each other in front of you. [/quote]
