We bought our first house in Germantown because that was where we can afford.  When our first child reached school age, we moved to a place to reduce our coomute time.  Then we moved again to a bigger house in Bethesda.  It takes time to accumulate wealth.  If you dont have a trust fund, start small and save as much as you can. Because being poor is supposed to disincentivize sucking. We have a neighborhood concept and some neighborhoods require you to be able to tread water. There are plenty of silver springs in the world, leave the few nice places alone [/quote]
