I wonder if the problem is that her dad went to the same college. Did she grow up with the expectation that she would go there and now that she's there, it isn't as great as she thought it would be? Is it a good fit school, both academically and culturally, or did she go there because she was a legacy? Either of those things could cause depression and/or trouble working as hard as she needs to.[/quote]
