I'm still plugging away through this series - almost done. The sex scenes are unbelievably inappropriate. I watch this by myself, not with my daughter (who has already watched it). OMG. These are KIDS behaving like adults. And the abusive relationship between Campbell and the blonde girl (can't remember her name) is sick. I found the reactions after Cassandra was killed to be so unrealistic. Both Allie and Gordy were waaaay too calm about it. It wasn't at all like her beloved sister had been shot.
Elle is in the relationship with Campbell, the sociopath (or psychopath, whatever). A switch flips in Elle's head later. I'll admit that I love the Grizz and Sam relationship, although I am curious as to how they'll address how they got there. So if there's a season 2, I will have to watch it. But yes, the sex scenes are very inappropriate.
PP here. I love the Grizz and Sam relationship too, but I hate it when shows try to make something complicated out of something that should be fairly simple. Obviously, Sam should explain to Grizz that he's not the biological father, but that he plans on raising the baby as if he is. And then he should explain to Becca that he and Grizz have "found" each other and are going to be a couple. Everyone else knows he's gay, it's not some big secret.
I agree! I think that's a weak plot event that goes overboard. Now Sam has lied twice to Grizz. And Grizz immediately came out to Gwen. So you know if there's a second season, Grizz and Sam will probably have a falling out over this - if only temporary. I hate that I'm this involved in a YA series. I could kick myself. My daughter was scanning for videos, and she found a "behind the scenes" segment where Jack Mulhern (Grizz) and Jose Julian (Gordie) created a book club. So I'm thinking that those two aren't so different from their characters, which makes me love them even more!
Yes!! My husband came in while I was engrossed and I was so embarrassed.
lol My husband knows I'm watching it with my daughter, but he has no idea what it's about. We watch it in the basement. ha!
