She was 18. He claims she was 20. He was 33. And tres ugly. And looks creepy. Believe her.
So if he was attractive and didn’t “look creepy” you’d be less inclined to believe her? Jeez. I had two separate experiences when I was 18/19 where I hung out with a guy a few times where it started as platonic and when the guy clearly wanted it to turn into something more, I broke it off. I know that one of the guys characterized this as “dating” to multiple third parties. He get that it was a series of dates that I then changed my mind about. I felt that it was a series of occasions in which I hung out with a male acquaintance casually on things that I did not understand to be dates based on other people being present and zero date signals occurring during the encounters. When he started putting romantic moves on me, I stopped hanging out with him. I don’t know how the other one frames the 3x we saw each other before I told him I wasn’t interested in hanging out anymore or taking things to the next level. In any case, if her recollection is that she felt preyed on, I respect that. It took me a long time to come to grips with the power differential in several relationships I was in earlier in my life. As a newly independent 18yo, I wanted to be very grown up. The men I ran around with were mostly too old for me (mid-20s) and in retrospect, their interest does feel creepy. Doesn’t mean I wasn’t all in at the time. Just means that as I’ve aged and my views have evolved, I understand that it was inappropriate on their end.
