Wow, I think some of you have way too much time on your hands if this offends you. You kind of sound like children yourselves. It’s MY day! Nothing about what others want to consider to be part of a commercial holiday makes me any less of a mother. I am lucky to have a family who loves me and shows me appreciation more than one day a year, though, so I don’t have to dwell on it.
I actively chose not to join the armed services and can’t believe you didn’t acknowledge me on Veteran’s Day. It should be about me, too!
And I wanted to join but was unable to due to medical issues. Does that mean I get to be acknowledged too? I don't get in a tizzy about it but it IS dumb.
Nobody said anything about not wanting to acknowledge those who wanted to be mothers but we're unable to be for whatever reason. But "thinking of" or "honoring" child-free *by choice* women (as the flower meme goes) is a step too damn far.
