K at JO Wilson. No thanks to this principal drama!
where will you be instead? you do know that a dozen elementary schools got new principals last year (https://dcps.dc.gov/page/principal-announcements-school-year-2018-2019) and 14 the year before that (https://dcps.dc.gov/page/principal-announcements-school-year-2017-2018) so the odds of encountering "principal drama" at any school in the next couple years are pretty high, right?
We have a high number at a few nearby schools so will pick one of those. I have great confidence in the leadership at Langley and Seaton and only listed JOW because of the Stuart-Hobson feeder. I figure if we want JOW so badly we will probably get in for an upper grade later.
I like how you assume you'll get in. If it's DCPS, they may not take anyone because they want to see how many IB kids move in over the summer and need to be accommodated. Would you move if offered a spot after Labor Day?
Yes, we would take a late offer. Right now we live in MD and have an okay option but are looking to move to a home we own in Ward 5 for commute reasons. Based on last year's data I am not at all concerned about getting in, and it's fine if we wait until next year too.
