i have a one year old that's not sleeping and i look forward to every monday like christmas morning. quiet, i can pee in peace and eat in peace. i get it.
+1...I've got a monster of a two and a half year old who when she isn't being a whiny brat is fighting with her 5 year old brother. I'm cranky, DH cranky...not tons of activities that entertain two year old for that long. Weekends are hell. Absolute hell.
I have kids the same ages (2.5 and not quite 5). My only advice is to RUN THEM like crazy. We walk to the far away playground, and bring the stroller for the slog home. We spend every weekend morning out of the house doing something that will tire them out, mainly playgrounds these days, but anything that requires walking is fine (zoo, museum, mall). After nap time we hang out in the back yard. Again, running them. We make up games, they run, we use our scooters etc. We can not stay in the house. They turn into rabid dogs by 10am on a weekend if we have not gotten out the door. So we leave the house by 9/9:30am each Saturday/Sunday. My DH and I take turns sleeping in, so one of use does the 6:30am shift while the other stays in bed until 8am.
