I’d admit to being a serial killer before admitting to be a republican let alone a trump supporter in this area. I hate my life living under democrat domination
+1. We don’t discuss politics with others. No one would ever guess that we voted for trump.
I'm curious about this. How do people not know? I live in DC and I can figure out who voted for Trump from their standpoints on different things. For instance, one acquaintance made a remark about #metoo and victim mentality, chances are R. Another commented about never letting her son go to the bathroom alone because of transgender people, chances are R. People mention articles they read and news they saw and usually say I read this on the WaPo or saw this on Fox News, and then you can figure out who they voted for. You might think you're hidden, but I doubt it.
You can figure it out even without mentioning Fox News. Those who meticulously avoid the subject of politics, who are religious or appear conservative in other ways, I assume are Trump supporters and avoid accordingly. Not because I think they're necessarily bad people but because I already know we don't share values or have much in common.
so you avoid poeple based on appearances and your assumptions. You are a really icky person.
I am guessing you aren't running out and making besties with those you already know you will not have much in common with. Everyone makes assumptions based on appearances. Half the posters in this thread are using the term "libtards", yet *I* am icky. Sure, Jan. What on earth would I have in common with a conservative religious person, whichever way they voted, and why would I befriend someone when I already know our values don't align? Yes, I am pretty liberal. My best friend since childhood is a man married to another man. I dislike organized religion. I fear guns and would never willingly get near one. Obviously when I said "avoid" I didn't mean I pretend people don't exist or run screaming the other way. I just keep a polite distance.
