OP here. Hit-and-runner told her insurance company that she didn’t hit my car. Shocking, I know.
Why would she say otherwise?
2 witnesses and a security camera say she’s lying.
A hit and run where someone is injured is a crime. This is not that. This is at best a civil suit. She is saying she did not hit car only means she does not recall hitting your car. Why would she admit she dented you and intentionally left. Further this is not a criminal matter. In the end all you can get is her insurance to pay for dent and your insurance not to go up. Now the cameras most likely only show her car hit your car, if it does not show her face it may not prove she was driving. Still her insurance will pay of course. But perhaps she is worried about a moving violation. Then there is question of your fault in it. Was your car parked legally, were you too far from curb. A big stretch but hard to stop from happening. I had a hit and run on my car parked legally in front of house. I got $18,000 worth of damage. The drive rolled his car and left it in street and ran off. My neighbor even witnessed it. Guy claimed and this is rich he hit head, was in a daze and ran off confused, he ended up at a guy he knew walking distance from accident. He then "voluntarily" showed up at body shop near my house where police took both cars and admitted guilt. He was obviously drunk as it was 2am and he was coming from a bar. But hey is he going to say I was drunk. Big pain but I got car fixed. I only owned it four weeks. He also claimed he had no knowledge of hitting my car. Cop told me not your problem. Funny part it was girlfriends car, he got off scott free as girlfriends insurance paid.
