I remember hearing the first pitch for CCL, and thinking that it was a huge dodge of accountability. No scores posted, no promotion/ relegation - all about player development. And I remember thinking that no other sport in the US takes this approach. That the pitch was pure BS. And I see that pitch now for ECNL. No more need to worry about qualiifying! Everyone goes to the showcase every year! I wish I’d had the courage to call BS on the coaches and clubs that keep doing this - but of course, it’s not just me I’d be impacting, its my son too. So I kept my mouth shut and went along. It turned out actually really well for my son, but I saw so many kids get really hurt along the way.
