My (Asian) daughter didn't get in after 4.0, 100% on the test, stellar teacher recommendations, Decent Essays, a math passionate person in Algebra2/Trig in 8th grade, Chess champion, Chamber violinist, an all-star basketball player, Science Olympiad participant, Math counts winner. What else do you need? A paid student information sheet writer to write politically pleasing words?? Go figure!
You can remind her that her GPA does not matter, admissions did not look at that, so she was likely beaten by kids with Bs, and probably Cs in other subjects that don't count, like Civics and English. Minimum GPA to make the pool is 3.0. Also remind her that her Verbal entrance Exam does not matter either, they did not consider it so she was most definitely beaten by kids with 30s/50 and 40s/50 verbal. No wonder They need to hire an ESL specialist at TJ.
