Clearly more people than the PP can't afford their clothes, because they're going out of business.  I only went there once to get my son something fancy to wear to a wedding.  Pretty stuff, but I thought it was really pricey for special occasion clothes they wouldn't wear much. [/quote]

Um, they’re going out of business because their parent company, Gymboree, mismanaged their business and no one was buying from them or Crazy 8 (their low end line.) Janie and Jack is the only profitable division and that’s why it’s up for sale and they are still hoping to negotiate a buyer. I love the clothes, always have. My dd wears them a lot. Short of playing in the mud I have no issue with her wearing them to preschool or the playground. It’s fine if you can’t handle the price or don’t like the look but a lot of people do and there has been definite interest in purchasing the brand instead of seeing it collapse like Gymboree. I can "handle" the price (or afford it, as most people would say who write proper English), but choose not to, because I think it's wasteful to spend 80-120$ on kid's clothes in most cases.  If Janie and Jack were sufficiently attractive, they would have found a buyer by now, as it's been reported for months that Gymboree has been trying to sell off its businesses at the brand level.[/quote]
