Yeah demascus is a football powerhouse. Must be lots of school spirit there. I saw that the bethesda schools regularly win soccer championships. Do they have school spirit? Just curious Good to know about Blair and Einstein
My kids aren't in high school yet, but when they go next year they'll go to Wooten. However, my niece & nephews go to WJ and one of my nephews is on the football team & they really have such amazing school spirit, I was blown away. I have to say, I was really pleasantly surprised to see how excited & involved the student body was at games & pep rallies. I guess because I went to a small high school, I never really knew what I was missing until I went to my nephew's games. My sister told me that one of the contributing factors of the student body being so involved, is that they have spirit week quite often at WJ (ie; Monday = dress in WJ green, Tuesday = wear your favorite team jersey or shirt, Wednesday = dress as your favorite kind of wildcat, etc). She was under the impression that other high schools may have spirit week once or twice a year, but I think she said that WJ has spirit week at least once a month? I'm really hopeful that Wooten's student body is involved when it comes to school spirit... does anyone know?
BCC and WJ have great school spirit, but not so much Churchill, and ESPECIALLY not Wootton, sorry PP :( My DD is at Wootton and she has been to 1-2 football games in the past 3 years(she's a junior), and when she went there were maybe 10 kids total. Kinda sad IMO, but at least it has good ratings!
Interest in football games is not the only criteria to judge the school spirit. There can be many other things. Sports may play an important role, but I do not think any single sport is irreplaceable.
