I have not heard of this end of cycle horny-ness, except maybe knowing the period is coming and that my DH will not want to do it on heavy days might make me initiate in that time frame.  For me it’s definitely early cycle/ovulation.  I just think about sex multiple times a day in that window whereas after ovulation - not thinking about it at all.[/quote]

I think I've heard of sort of two different mechanisms at work. I might get this wrong since it's half remembered, but mid-cycle it's more of a hormonal shift having to do with the evolutionary benefits of a woman being horny when she's most likely to conceive. The end-cycle is more of a mechanical situation. Water retention kind of [b]engorges the erogenous areas[/b] in a way that makes some women more interested in sex. [/quote]
