OP I hear ya. I got married last June. During the time I dated my now husband he was perfectly capable of flushing the toilet after he pees, wiping the seat if he pees on it, throwing the endless amount of paper towels he uses into the trash bin, taking his own plate to the sink after he eats, etc. I told him time and time again that I cannot live like a slob. I'm not a neat freak, but basic hygiene is important to me. I'm going to start hiding his shit from now on. I'm also going to stop flushing the toilet to see if he gets a hit. Me nagging is clearly not working.
Meant to say he no longer cares about any of the things he used to do when we were dating.
OP here--it's like the switch flipped and someone expect you to be their maid.
Is he feeling resentful over something? Something may be bothering him about your relationship, and he is acting out, instead of talking about it. See if you can get to the bottom of this, without specifically mentioning the issue of not cleaning up after himself. We had a "peeing on the toilet seat" phase. Talk about stupid nonsense. I just asked if he'd forgotten how to pee properly, more joky than angry, I think that helped? Don't give up and start doing the lion's share of the housework, though, because you'll be doing that for life.
