If you are buying a million dollar townhouse in Gaithersburg, you're likely not going to be commuting to DC for work. I know a Dr who works at a nearby hospital in that area who lives in one of these townhouses. Yes, there are jobs nearby that can support ones ability to buy a 1.5 million home.
