Once in the left lane, again, the passing lane, you've made the commitment to pass the cars in the right lane, so you must do that.  Not just drive there 10 over the speed limit. I have tried explaining this to so many people, and they all think I'm full of shit.  The left lane is NOT for cruising, it's for passing.  Having said that, OP did explain how she was blocked by trucks to her right - so she wasn't able to move to the right.  something similar happened to me a few years ago right at the 495/270 interchange, driving south.  a Holton "dad" in his frustrated Mercedes wagon tried running me off the road into the median because I wasn't going fast enough for him.  I was in the passing lane, using it correctly. Person in front of me was going too slow. Holton dad came up out of nowhere.  Saw that same Holton dad again that following weekend, speeding through the Wildwood shopping center parking lot.  [/quote]
