He is in two AP courses this year (AP Calculus and AP Comp Sci Principles) and doing well in both. The AP Calc class is really the only one that feels the right balance of challenging and interesting for him this year. Chemistry, English, History.. even the AP Comp Sci Principles courses are all very easy/boring to him.

I would encourage your son to meet with his counselor for more guidance on APs.  Some (like comp sci principles/environmental science ie) are known to be less challenging.  Physics C, AP Chem, Multivariate Calc...these are the challenges.  He can build a challenging schedule with AP classes.[/quote]
