I get the desire to not uproot the kids, but after you get through this first transition, you should give moving some thought.  As your kids get older, they might rather have some $$ for taking vacations, eating out, activities, etc vs. living the big house.  I have a friend who moved from the big pre-divorce house into a smaller house after several years, and she says she should have done it earlier.  [/quote]
