My 13 month old crawled right into the corner of a bed and got a deep cut right between his eyes. I immediately took him to the doctor where they glued it together. This happened about two weeks ago and it looks really red and sore. It is so noticeable. I am really worried about scaring. I am using mederma about 5 times a day. If your baby had a deep cut, did it eventually heal or did it leave a scar? Thanks.
DS2 did the exact same thing when he was 14MO (pretty sure my bedroom furniture is out for my kids, DS1 has a scar on his cheek from our nightstand!) and he’s now 2YO. The cut was bad, but the dr glued it saying the trauma of holding him down, needles and stitches would be worse than the scar from glue. I wasn’t as religious about Mederma so it’s probably more noticeable than it would have been, but it’s still a pretty noticeable “crater” between his eyes. On top of the Mederma, be vigilant with sunscreen too.
