The 06 group only lost 4 players of its original U12 Green team-one moved overseas and 2 left for DA and the goalie quit to play in field, so they had 12 girls stay for ECNL, which was a solid retention rate. The 05 group lost almost their entire team from last year between Spirit and Arlington DA, but the new 05 team seems to be doing well-Clyde Watson was still able to recruit a lot of good new talent. The older teams coached by Cindi Harkes and Nadir Moauman do very well consistently. Seems like a good place to be if you want to play on high school and for a solid club team to get exposure to colleges.
I heard the story that the 1st and 2nd teams should have combined to make a big roster for 11v11 at U13 but that there was not enough good players to do that because some players didn't come back for U12 and too many others from both 1st and 2nd team left after U12 in some sort of exodus and either quit soccer or didn't try out for ECNL ..... it was several more then 4 players .... I think its true that too many went to WS and ASA to have enough for an "elite" team. They played in the second flight this weekend.
Not sure what you think you heard, but it is typical for most of the ECNL teams not to take more than a small handful from the White team (B team). The vast majority of players that move on to ECNL come from the Green team (A team). At the 06 level, 12 of the original Green players stayed, which is the usual number. They only have 6 more roster spaces from there, 1 of which went to a White team player. The other 5 were recruits from outside or playups from 07. The majority of the original White team went elsewhere, which was the only unusual thing, as many got recruited to DA or Arlington Red, as they happened to have many strong White team players from that age group. But, nothing sinister happened-at most, only 3-4 White team players usually move on to ECNL in any given year.
Not the PP. Not sure what you mean by "original" 06 Green team. While it is true that 12 stayed from last years 06 Green team. Many of those 12 were not on 06 Green the year before. at least 5 members for the 06 Green team from the year before are playing for WS and Arlington now. Both Arlington DA and WS DA also have members of last years 06 White team that did not previously play on Green (Total number of former Mclean players on 06 Arlington DA 3+, Total number of former Mclean players on 06 WS DA 6+, numbers are even higher for 05.) That's what I said, if you actually read the post. Most members of last year's McLean 06 White team (B team), left to play for both Spirit and Arlington DA, as they were not asked to join the McLean ECNL team this year. Not sure what the argument is.

Please stop posting lies. Most of these five opted not to even tryout for McLean ECNL. DA ID sessions were before ECNL tryouts. McLean ECNL offers were/would have been made to some of these players. I'm just trying to correct yours and others "facts". Please ask other parents from this team if you think I am mistaken.
There are also girls on the ECNL team that went to the Arlington ID sessions and were not offered spots and so they stayed with ECNL. Not sure they would have made the same decision if they recieved offers from Arlington DA.
