Honestly, I just wear a hoodie-like jacket. That way it's obvious I have a layer for warmth that isn't intended to look like part of my outfit.
Wut? At work?
Yup. Women have quite a bit a leeway in office comfort because of how cold the thermostat is usually set. I have zero interest in sitting at my desk in a dry-clean only suit jacket. Cardigans look dumb on me (I'm short and round). People use shawls, pullovers, and literal blankets wrapped around them. I like my zip-up hoodie. It's cozy.
Yes, my office is this way too. I have a blanket, others have hoodies. Our boss doesn’t care what we wear at our desks and it doesn’t influence her opinion of us. She could care less if we are wearing pajamas at our desks as long as we look professional in court and meeting with witnesses or making other public appearances. I commute in flip flops in the summer and clogs in the winter as well, and it’s nice to sometimes just leave them on and have pain-free feet all day.
