Your 2006 Odyssey has a VCM issue (google it). All you have to do is disable it. It's too late now.

PP here.  I'm very hard on cars (I average 1,600 miles a month--that's just over 19,000 miles a year).  I believe average is 12-15,000/year.  Believe me when I tell you the car was trash.  It had other issues with regard to wear and tear of the car (to include brakes which we replaced more often than normal, issues with the steering wheel not being secure; we replaced the alternator several times.)  What we were spending monthly in repairs was a couple hundred more than our monthly payment on the new car.  We were intending to trade it in, but I could only get 2,000 from carmax (and less from the dealer) for it.  Thanks for the info on VCM.  I will google it and watch for it in the new car (which is less than 18 months old and currently has 25,500 miles on it already).[/quote]
