Never done this. Never going to. But elaborate grooming procedures fascinate me so I had a client explaining her nail process to me and she said there is something called a 'fill in' where they add to the bald part near the cuticle. Is this not something everyone does? Are they literally ripping off your whole fake nail/sanding/chemicals every time? How can that be good for your nail?
That is NOT a gel manicure. That is definitely acrylic. I have never had that. I did natural for years until gel was introduced. Gel is applied to your natural nail, just like regular polish. Two coats plus base and top coat...just like regular manicure. Only difference is the drying and removal process. Dry under UV. Remove with gentle filing and acetone "soak." The removal is a pain, but you should use someone who is skilled at this because this is where an inexperienced technician can ruin your nails. What is lovely is that when my manicure is done, there is no drying time...I can grab my credit card out of my wallet and now worry about smudging! And people always compliment me on my nails...sometimes when they are a week old or more. You can't tell the difference until they start to grow out (about two weeks).
