We also really like the Richard Montgomery cluster...lots of cultural diversity. My older elementary kids typically have had 1-2 kids of S. Asian origin in their classes. If you're looking for a higher number of S. Asian families, I think Potomac/N. Potomac have a higher concentration of S. Asians. We've been very happy with the diversity of the RM cluster! Their are many people teaching S. Asian arts up and down the 270 corridor and in Montgomery County. Not quite like Ashburn but still plentiful!
Good to hear that there are 1-2 kids of South Asian origin in each class. I was not familiar with Ashburn and after seeing it mentioned in this thread earlier, I did some digging. We are not looking for Ashburn's level of concentration to be honest, that's too high a concentration and i am not sure it's it's even beneficial for our kids. It looks like RM cluster is diverse. Any specific ES school feedback in RM? We don't know much about any schools.
DP... I can't speak to other ESs, but certainly there are a fair number of Indian families who live in Fallsgrove, and they go to Ritchie Park ES. Both my kids at RP (now one at JWMS) have had at least one Indian friend throughout each year. That's not to say that there aren't more than one per class, but just that they had at least one friend they played with regularly each year. We are a biracial family, too, but not Indian. There a fair number of biracial families in the RM cluster, and not just white/asian variety. There are a number of muslims, jews, christians, and a few sheiks that I've seen. RM diversity is pretty great. It's one of the reasons we chose the cluster. hopefully someone can give you some idea about the other ESs in the cluster.
