You can be a dedicated, loving parent, and cultivate a healthy relationship with your ex, while STILL observing good boundaries that don't put new partners in an untenable situation. It's not healthy to set up a situation where the exes are only going to find unhealthy partners (ie partners that will put up with an enmeshed "divorced" pair). You're only going to attract someone with big issues that way, and that's not good for the kid. [/quote]
