More information here. It sounds like the man's friend/partner was killed and he's quite upset about it. Make sure you run sprinklers through your underground bunker if you want to save your friends. http://www.fox5dc.com/news/local-news/man-who-escaped-mysterious-fatal-bethesda-fire-has-checkered-past
Later articles don't make it sound like the man who died was a friend. He was hired to dig the tunnels. He told his friends that when he went to work, he was blindfolded and driven to the work location. He dug those tunnels thinking he was working in Virginia! Doesn't sound like "friends" to me. After the fire and death, and all the suspicious circumstances it's beyond me why the authorities aren't allowed to go in and inspect the tunnels. I'd be so up in arms if I were an immediate neighbor. This is absurd. If you do work on a house you need to get inspections and permits. Why would you be allowed to do whatever the fxck you please underground? No one even knows if his work was restricted to his own property. And even if it was, it could still affect neighbors in terms of earth stability and drainage and pests.
