Still no word from Ms. Gros or FCPS on why my daughters teacher is gone even though every one knows. I hope they are looking for a qualified replacement and not a bunch of random subs. I bet SOLs scores will be going down this year.
Seriously? SOLs are right around the corner, and the teacher was there for the vast majority of the year.
Yes now is important. Schools are doing nothing but review work now. Hard to review with no teacher and random subs. My kid said there was another random subs. Still no word from FCPS or Ms. Gros on the situation. Complete lack of communication.
I don't have a dog in this fight, but I would be willing to bet they're trying like hell to find a long-term sub with at least some minimal amount of training before they send out an official notification to parents and not having much success--which should surprise no one who has followed the threads about issues with subs in FCPS. It sounds like there are more than a few issues going on here and parents should be hammering the school board about all of them.
Stuart parent here and they should be telling parents they are trying to find a sub. If it wasn't for this website I wouldn't even know my daughters teacher is out. Parents don't even know that their kids teacher is out. This is over three weeks with 0 communication. Parents have sent emails and we don't even get a reply. I can understand certain things they can't communicate, but they should at least notify parents when the teacher is gone for prolonged periods of time. Especially an IB teacher when IB exams are coming up.
