Religious people have long stopped responding to threads that are clearly meant to portray believers and certain religions in a negative light. We now stick to religious for religion topics only. There is a very clear intent to insert atheism and other philosophies into Religion forum. It won't work. You'll only get others that are like minded responding to you. Sometimes, I think that's the only purpose of this forum anyway.
You want to ban atheist topics from the forum? Why?
I don't. Most religious people have deserted the forum. It seems that was the intent among those hell bent on not leaving the Religion forum alone. I and other believers now stick strictly to religious topics.
I agree. I only contribute now on thread like "where can I find a church with a good contemporary choir" type posts. Otherwise I have abandoned the religious forum.
I too have largely abandoned the Religion forum. I think OP’s suggestion to rename the forum “Philosophy and Religion” is a great one. We old-timers know to stay away, but there will always be newcomers who don’t understand that religion is unwelcome in the Religion forum. And who will be surprised/angered at the barrage of hate that accompanies simple expressions of belief there. Forums should have names that reflect their participants and discussions. You wouldn’t call the “pets” forum something like “houseplants.” BTW, the idea that it’s “liberals” doing the bullying is absurd. I’m as liberal as they come, and religious. As many of us have argued here, many times, Christianity is far more compatible with liberalism than with Trumpian xenophobia and trickle-down economics. But I digress.
