both early 30s, dating 6+ mos, you should know by now if she is "The One". If she isn't and you can't commit to a ring, cut her loose, and let her find a man, who she can depend on and marry. You know she's not "The One", you just feel you want to "repay her" for her kindness, otherwise you wouldn't have to ask what to get her. Please, stop wasting her time.  [/quote]

Op here. You’re wrong. I am not leading her on, and I know she is someone I want to be with for a long time, but I know she would be freaked out with a ring at 6 months. We moved talked about it and she said at our age, around a year mark seems like a good idea whether to know or not. I think many of you probably rush into things and wonder why it fails. Most don’t get engaged after only 6 months of dating. [/quote]
